Full Name: Martin "Marty" Leaks
Occupation: Editor-in-Chief of Silver City Satellite News
Age: Late 50s – Early 60s
Personality: Ruthless, manipulative, foul-mouthed, self-serving
Marty Leaks is a hard-nosed, chain-smoking, coffee-guzzling editor who built Silver City Satellite News from the ground up. He’s been in the news business long enough to know that truth doesn’t sell—sensationalism does. He’s a man who thrives in the muck of Silver City, always looking for the next big story, the next scandal, the next paycheck.
He takes pride in the fact that he’s “seen it all,” but deep down, he knows some things shouldn’t be reported. The problem is—he doesn’t care. If it gets clicks, if it boosts ratings, it’s worth it. He doesn’t care who dies along the way, as long as the story breaks first.
Marty constantly berates Mike and Frank, calling them "lazy, washed-up hacks" while pushing them into increasingly dangerous assignments. He knows Mike is an alcoholic, and he exploits that weakness, keeping him on a leash with the one thing he knows Mike still cares about—his job.
However, Marty isn’t just an ordinary scumbag boss—he’s in deeper than he lets on. He knows more about the Black Doors than he admits, and he’s been covering up supernatural occurrences for years. At first, it seems like he’s just a corrupt journalist, but later, we learn that Marty has been working with Father Thomas, a priest who knew about the dark forces in Silver City. Together, they tried to expose the Black Doors—but they failed.
Now, Marty is running out of time. Sabrina has taken notice of his meddling, and his days are numbered.
Marty starts off as an antagonist of sorts—pushing Mike and Frank into the Black Doors conspiracy out of selfish ambition. However, as the story unfolds, it becomes clear that Marty isn’t just a power-hungry editor—he’s desperate. He’s scared. He’s seen things he shouldn’t have, and he knows that the deeper Mike digs, the more danger they’re all in.
By the time Mike and Frank realize how much Marty knows, it’s too late. Sabrina sets her sights on him, and his fate is sealed.
Marty’s arc is a descent into paranoia and doom. He starts off as a powerful, untouchable figure in Silver City’s media scene, but the moment he gets too close to the truth, the Black Doors consume him.
His fate?
He is personally claimed by Sabrina. In a terrifying scene, he is confronted by her and her demons, who drag him into the abyss. His screams are heard throughout the news station, but when Frank and Mike arrive, his office is empty—except for the words “Doors are everywhere” scrawled in blood on his desk.
