Sister Madeline – Character Breakdown

Full Name: Sister Madeline
Occupation: Nun at Saint Peter’s Church
Age: Early 30s
Personality: Soft-spoken, haunted, deeply traumatized

Backstory & Personality:

Sister Madeline appears to be a devoted nun, but beneath her composed exterior lies years of buried trauma and horrifying secrets. She was raised in Saint Peter’s Church from childhood, growing up under the strict, almost cult-like teachings of Father Thomas.

At first, she believed she was serving God. But as she grew older, she began to remember things—things that had been forced into the shadows of her mind.

  • She was one of Father Thomas’s victims.

  • She was taken to hidden rooms, forced into rituals she didn’t understand.

  • She was told it was God’s will.

For years, she obeyed, suppressing her suffering in the name of faith. But when Father Thomas was mysteriously killed, she felt relief—and then fear. Because something worse had come to take his place.

She knows the truth about what was happening inside the church. She knows that the Black Doors are real. But she also knows that anyone who speaks about them… doesn’t live long enough to regret it.

Role in Black Doors

Sister Madeline serves as a tragic informant, providing crucial details about the church’s connection to the Black Doors.

  • When Mike Walker questions her about Father Thomas, she first denies everything.

  • When he pushes harder, she breaks down, leading him to a hidden room inside the church.

  • She reveals that she was abused in that room, taken by Father Thomas as part of a sacrificial ritual.

  • She whispers, "Go to the Black Doors."

But before she can say more, something horrific happens.

Fate & Death Scene:

After revealing the truth, Sister Madeline enters a trance-like state. Her entire demeanor shifts—she becomes seductive, something completely unnatural for a nun.

She removes her habit, letting down her long dark hair. She pulls Mike toward her, whispering, “Will you show me things too?”

For a moment, it’s unclear if she is still herself—or if something is controlling her.

She leads Mike to an open window, standing naked on the ledge, arms outstretched like a crucifix. She slashes her arms, blood dripping onto the floor.

Before Mike can stop her, she cuts her own throat.

Her final words? "Go to the Black Doors."

As she falls, her body evaporates into a black crow, which flaps its wings and disappears into the night.

Key Relationships:

  • Mike Walker: She is the first to tell him the church’s dark secret, but her warning comes at a deadly price.

  • Father Thomas: Her abuser, the man who broke her mind. His death freed her—but also left her vulnerable to something worse.

  • Sabrina: Though they never meet, Sabrina’s power is what ultimately consumes her.

Final Words:

"Go to the Black Doors."
